Job Description
Block Masons in New Zealand are responsible for constructing walls, foundations, retaining walls, commercial buildings, and residential structures using concrete blocks, bricks, and other masonry materials. Workers read construction plans, prepare mortar, lay blocks accurately, and ensure all structures meet safety and quality standards. Due to ongoing construction projects, skilled block masons remain in demand across New Zealand.
Hour Duty / Responsibilities
- Lay concrete blocks, bricks, and masonry materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Measure and mark work areas accurately.
- Mix mortar and construction materials.
- Build retaining walls, foundations, and structural walls.
- Repair damaged masonry structures.
- Maintain safety standards on construction sites.
- Clean and organize tools and work areas after completion.
Qualification
Required
- High School Certificate (10th or 12th Pass)
- Basic English Communication Skills
- Knowledge of masonry tools and construction methods
- Physical fitness for outdoor work
Preferred
- Trade Certificate in Masonry or Construction
- 1–3 years of Block Mason experience
- Valid Driving License (advantage)
