A Furniture Carpenter is responsible for manufacturing, assembling, repairing, and installing wooden furniture such as cabinets, wardrobes, tables, chairs, office furniture, and custom wood products. The role includes reading blueprints, measuring materials, cutting timber, operating woodworking machinery, sanding, polishing, and ensuring high-quality finishes.
Job Duties
- Read technical drawings and measurements.
- Cut, shape, and assemble timber components.
- Install cabinets, wardrobes, and wooden fixtures.
- Repair and restore damaged furniture.
- Operate woodworking machines safely.
- Sand, polish, and finish furniture surfaces.
- Inspect finished products for quality.
- Maintain workplace safety standards.
Qualification
- Certificate III in Carpentry, Furniture Making, or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum High School education.
- 2–5 years of furniture carpentry experience preferred.
- Ability to use power tools and read construction drawings.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
