Steel Erectors are responsible for assembling, installing, and securing steel frameworks used in commercial buildings, bridges, warehouses, industrial plants, and infrastructure projects. Workers read construction drawings, operate lifting equipment, and ensure steel structures are installed safely and accurately. Australia continues to experience demand for skilled construction workers, creating opportunities for overseas applicants with relevant experience
Duties and Responsibilities
- Install and erect structural steel components.
- Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
- Use cranes, rigging equipment, and power tools.
- Align steel beams, columns, and girders.
- Perform welding and bolting operations.
- Follow workplace health and safety regulations.
- Inspect steel structures for quality and stability.
- Work at heights using safety equipment
Experience Required
- Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Fresh skilled workers with construction backgrounds may also apply depending on employer requirements.
