Job Description

Steel Fixers are responsible for installing and securing reinforcing steel bars (rebar) and mesh used in concrete structures. They read construction drawings, cut and bend steel, tie reinforcement, and ensure all work meets engineering specifications and Australian safety standards. Steel Fixers work on residential, commercial, civil engineering, bridge, and infrastructure projects

Main Responsibilities

  • Read structural and reinforcement drawings.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and position reinforcing steel bars.
  • Tie rebar using wire and specialized tools.
  • Install steel mesh for concrete slabs, walls, columns, and beams.
  • Ensure reinforcement complies with project specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Work with engineers, supervisors, and concrete crews.

Qualification

Construction or steel fixing experience, ability to read structural drawings, White Card preferred
