Wood Polishers prepare, sand, stain, polish, and finish wooden furniture, cabinets, doors, flooring, and other wood products. They use hand tools, spray equipment, and polishing machines to ensure a smooth, high-quality finish. Workers are also responsible for repairing minor surface defects and maintaining workplace safety.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Sand and prepare wooden surfaces before finishing.
- Apply stains, varnishes, lacquer, paint, and protective coatings.
- Polish furniture and wood products using manual and power tools.
- Repair scratches, dents, and surface imperfections.
- Inspect finished products for quality standards.
- Maintain polishing equipment and keep the work area clean.
- Follow workplace health and safety regulations.
Qualification
| • High school diploma preferred. • Experience in furniture polishing, woodworking, or finishing is an advantage. • Knowledge of wood stains, varnishes, and polishing techniques. • Ability to use sanding and polishing tools safely. • Good physical fitness and attention to detail. • Basic English communication skills are preferred. |
