A Steel Fixer installs and ties reinforcing steel bars (rebar) and steel mesh for concrete structures. The job includes reading construction drawings, cutting and bending steel bars, fixing reinforcement in foundations, columns, beams, slabs, and walls, and ensuring all work meets engineering specifications and safety standards.

Qualification

High school or equivalent preferred. 1–3 years of steel fixing or construction experience is usually required. Ability to read construction drawings, knowledge of rebar cutting and tying, physical fitness, and awareness of construction safety practices are preferred.
